Since 1928, the members of Pottawatomie Garden Club have made St. Charles a more beautiful community. We plant flowers on the Main Street and Illinois bridges, and around the Municipal building each spring and fall; we honor past members with our Memorial Tree Program; and we present an annual Landscape Commendation Award to businesses in the Township.

The Club also awards annual scholarships to horticulture students and provides support to gardening and environmental projects in the community.

Our Mission Statement...

The mission of the Pottawatomie Garden Club of St. Charles shall be to cultivate the spirit of gardening in its broadest sense - to beautify home grounds and to encourage community beautification through gardening and education.
Welcome...

Pictured at left is a shot of the daffodils along the bike trail at Mount St. Mary's park in St. Charles, IL. About 5,000 bulbs were planted there last fall (2020) as part of the River Corridor Foundation's plan to beautify that area. Several PGC members joined in the activity. They are all coming into full bloom during the month of April!  Photo taken by Lanny Salvati
Above and bottom three photos: Club members spent a day at Red Bud Farm in Sheridan, IL enjoying the unique garden rooms, and having a delightful luncheon on the grounds followed by a program.  The  Garden Center was a hit with so many plants to buy and wonderful garden things to purchase.
Above: Twice a year the garden club members plant the bridges and the area around the Municipal Building in downtown St. Charles.
Above: In June 2023, members enjoyed an educational meeting and program at Fabyan Japanese Garden, featuring tours and lectures by members of the Preservation Partners of the Fox Valley. Below: The tours were followed by a Japanese-themed lunch in the Fabyan Pavilion.
